Looky what I found after seeing the new Harold & Kumar movie.

The AMC at Pleasure Island (among others) is going to be showing the live-action Death Note movie Tuesday and Wednesday, May 20th and 21st.

I think this looks interesting. So, is anyone in the Orlando area interested in seeing Death Note on the big screen?

One year ago today, D and I went on our first date. And it's been nothing but fun all year. (Especially some of those late nights. *winkwinknudgenudgesaynomore* ) There's been a dash or two of drama, but that's going to happen when you get more than one person in the same room for long enough.

It still feels just a little bit weird that I've had a girlfriend for this long. They usually only last a couple of months, not that there's been many of those. Oh well, that's just my little hang up that I'll have to deal with.

I don't know how wide this has been reported yet, but I saw on the news this morning that there are rumors that the last Harry Potter book (that'd be The Deathly Hallows) would be made into two movies. The first to be released around Nov. 2009, and the second coming out May 2010.

Anyone out there know how accurate this is?

Does anyone else realize how freaking awesome this is?

Well, it is. And yes, it is about damned time. *preorders*

I'm actually going to be attending MegaCon on Saturday. (Yay!) But the question is, "Is anyone planning on getting their picture taken with Naruto?" *groan*

I've never made a cheesecake before, so I decided to start small, with mini-cheesecakes. They've cooked and cooled and turned out quite yummy. (Though I only got 3 dozen, not the 4 dozen the recipe says it yields.) The guys at the office had better appreciate them.

When I was shopping for mini-cupcake pans to cook my mini cheesecakes I saw some 4" diameter spring-form pans. So some personal sized cheesecakes may be coming in the near future.

Friday, my cough had finally died down enough that D and I went to see Coverfield. I don't want to give anything away so all I'll say is that if you haven't seen it yet, what is your problem?! The movie was freakin' awesome! I didn't find the camera work to cause me any problems, though I did feel a little dizzy at the start of the movie, but I got over it quickly enough.

Saturday was pretty quiet. Though I did try a new sushi place nearby. Now I don't have to drive across town whenever I want some red bean ice cream. Yay.

Sunday theemdash and I were supposed to have an Anime Night, but that didn't happen. Oops. I spent most of the day doing laundry and painting models for a tournament next Saturday. Looks like we'll have to try again another day.

And today I caught up on my Death Note watching. (Thanks to mirankos for linking to this comic.)

While I work for a precast concrete company, that's only half of the company. The other half would be Gate Petroleum, you may have seen some of their gas stations around Florida. I received this announcement in my work email a couple week ago about a gas station about to reopen.

This new facility features a “Stargate” style convenience store, which is approximately 5,100 sq. ft. in size.

You can find the store here in Jacksonville. It reopens Feb. 28th.
